Carmel Lutheran Church

Confirmation is a 2-Year Discipleship Process for 7th and 8th grade youth.

• Discipleship begins with Biblical Knowledge from the Lutheran emphasis of being saved by grace through faith while learning how to let the Bible interpret itself as the true Word of God. The learning is organized by following Luther's Small Catechism.
• The second element of discipleship is Service to others where the youth learn to put there faith into practice.
• The third element is Christian Fellowship as they build relationships with other youth and significant adults at Carmel Lutheran.

The setting for the learning is small group teams of 4-6 youth and 1  parent/adult sitting together in a large group setting while all of the groups learn from the Pastors and DCE's. The learning is a combination of interactive teaching, active learning, activities, and discussion in a 1½ hour session on Sunday evenings. After the teaching the Small Group Teams meet for personal application and prayer time.
