BUILDING HOPE IN THE CITY
June 21-27
Cleveland, Ohio
Limit: 12 youth, 3 adults
Age: 8th grade Confirmands – 12th Grade
Possible projects include: Education classes for immigrants and refugees which may include ESL, hygiene classes, etc.; VBS for inner-city children; cross-cultural/urban training, etc.
Housing: Church or retreat center
Food: All meals are provided.
Travel to and from Indy: 15 passenger van, parent drivers
Cost: approximately $200
INDY BLITZ
July 31-August 2
Indianapolis
Limit: no limit
Age:
8th grade Confirmands through 12th grade
Type of work (options): Local Missions: St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Outreach Projects/working with neighborhood children
Housing: Carmel Lutheran Church
Food: Ladies from the congregation will prepare most of the dinner meals. Breakfast will be cereal, etc. Lunch will be sandwiches; dinners will be at St. Peter’s and CLC.
Travel to and from Indy: 15 passenger vans; parent drivers
Adult leadership needed: 2-3 Project Coordinators; 2-3 Meal Coordinators; 4-6 Chaperones/Drivers
Cost: $30
NOTE: If you are a part of the Blitz, you must be a part of the ENTIRE event. Please plan accordingly.
HANDYCAMP
Various dates through Summer 2009
Limit: no limit
Age:
8th grade Confirmands through 12th Grade
One-on-one companions: Teenagers and adults assist our campers with all camp activities. The companion/camper pairing stays together for the entire week of camp.
Housing: Camp Shiloh – air-conditioned cabins
Food: All meals are provided by the camp. You may want to bring money for lunch on the way home if needed.
Travel to and from Indy: 15 passenger van, parent drivers
Cost: $100 (reflects a CLC scholarship)
